This guy asked me to prom but I know its joke wat do i do?

At my lunch to day this girl called me over and told me this guy wanted to go to prom with me and he didnt have a date. the girls were all laughing but not the boy. they were being loud and I lied about it to my friends when they asked what happened he gave me his number. i am 100% sure this is a crude joke they are playing on me. for one thing im only a freshman i would never be allowed to go anyway. and those kids seemed to popular to ever call me over their table let alone ask me out anywhere. Im so embarressed what should i do?

Idiots. People are soo mean when they do this.

But I think you should either confront him and tell him you knew it was a joke but it was crude and to please tell his friends to act their age. But you have to be really nice about it.

Or just ignore them and don't bother. Because 1.. They haven't grown up. 2. You have to show them you're more mature than what they are. 3. All that matters is that YOU know, and don't let it bother you.

wow alot of these answers are TERRIBLE if you're too young to go to prom dont worry about it if you want to go out with him or something just be around him and see if he does actually like you
