Cut the guy some slack. We have all had impulse moments. I was not aware of the extreme difference from my CBR to the 1098 either. 6500 miles later. I love her at 70 MPH+, hate her at 10-35 MPH. I have taken a 800 mile road trip in two days and had no pain at all. Give it some time. The best relationships require the most work.
 
My 1098s was geared too tall for the street, so the first mod was to reduce the front sprocket by one tooth (14 vs. 15) and go up one tooth on the rear..These are very inexpensive mods and will make your ride much more streetable without even changing your stock chain.

just enjoy the bike put some miles on her and you will keep it trust me I bought my 848 with no test drive ,1st bike ever for me and I love the bike the more miles i put on her the better she fells . 3690 miles btw.
 
Well, i think i am ok now after consecutive days of riding. I will probably change to 14T. This will not hurt anything correct but probably high end - which is at higher speed?
 
Sautan, I note this bike has low miles and you do not appear to want to ride fast. From my experience, for the first 500 miles please not use it for low rev commute. get out in the middle of nowhere, get the revs up plus 5000, gear 3, 4, 5, no need for redline. It needs some high speed pressure running through the mid gears and working the throttle. If you do not want to do this on public roads, save it for the track. You will love it if you do and so will the new owner if you decide to sell.
 
dealer told me stay below 6K before the 600 miles. I have no issue going fast. What i meant is really not too fast I can go on local street with all traffic and building around here. I broke 100MPH the night i ride it home but in a smooth acceleration.
