I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring with about 54,800 miles on it.
I have had the car since August 2007. When I got the car, it had 27,000 miles on it. (Hey, going back and forth to school which was 750 miles away from home, also while I was in school going to New Orleans and Memphis) Eventually I wanted to get some kind of Jeep truck, probably a Liberty. But I'm not sure exactly how a trade in works. People keep telling me that now is the time to do the trade in, because Chrysler brands are so cheap now because of all the dealerships closing. But, how does that affect the payments that I am already making on my vehicle? Is a trade in like a credit, where they deduct the market value of the car from the price of the new truck? How do they determine what the value of my vehicle is? How will it affect my insurance payments? This is my first car so I'm totally in the dark about how this works.
Also, I have a small dent on the back door of the passenger side. Does that matter at all?
Thanks!
