The back of my thigh has been feeling wet for the past two weeks...I reach down to feel it and it's totally dry...it feels like I sat on something wet...it's driving me crazy!!! What could it be? I'm scared!
Does this happen after you have been sitting on something cold and is it only occasionally?
Just to put your mind at rest, I think sometimes after I get up off of a cold toilet seat that I must have dribbled on my thigh because it is feeling wet, too, but in checking it, it is dry.
The sensation for me lingers for a few minutes and then goes away until the next time. I believe it is just the thigh coming into contact with a hard cold surface.
Sounds like an irritated nerve for some reason it is causing you to feel different. It should go away in time. This happens from time to time. You might think about if you have recently hurt your back or lifted something heavy or had acrobatic bedroom fun or it just might be irritated for no apparent reason.
AnnD . . . I never made that connection before but you could be right. I have had sciatica for over 20 years though I have only noticed this occasional sensation for the last few or so.
I feel it for more than half the day... yesterday I called the doctor's office to get an appointment- the assistant asked me if I had exercised recently (which I hadn't) and if my leg was red, so I took a look and saw that I have some kind of purple vein in the area that I'm feeling this sensation in. You could be right AnnD...I hope it isn't anything bad!
I went to the doctor... he totally ignored my complaint about my leg!!! He was like... it's nothing! I just took a blood test... it's weird not having an explanation for something so weird!
I agree with Ann. The lumbar nerves carry sensations into the buttocks, legs, feet and toes. You may have a little inflammation in your lower back that is causing that weird feeling in your back. Something is irritating that neural root. Try to avoid any activity that involves bending, twisting or lifting for a couple weeks and see if it goes away. If not, come hang out on the Back Board!!
