They have my bike. Is it iilegal? What should I do?

Okay so my bike is at my ex girlfriends house and I want it back but they won't give it back because I owe her 60 bucks because she bought our prom tickets. I couldn't buy them because I was suspended. But her mom refuses to give me my bicycle until I pay her back. I'm choosing not to pay her back because the way I was treated after we broke up. I NEED the bike so I can get to work...Isn't that bribing? It's not they're bike and I have the recite for it and a warranty. I keep asking nicely and she refuses to give it back. Is this a reasonable cause to call the police? Please help, all advice is welcome.

The prom ticket deal is a civil matter that you will have to work out. The bicycle situation is a criminal matter because its against the law to hold someone's property over a debt. Whether the police will get involved I don't know but you won't know until you call them.
