Seriously. Like, most ppl around here: JLXC, Unfa, myself, CL, Taylor, Havok, we are metal. You = not metal. A rastahat = not metal. Black clothes = not metal.

Oh, btw, I usually wear my hair in braids or a pony tail, I wear dresses rather than jeans, I rarely wear boots (or shoes for that matter) I never wear makeup, I am a mom, and I'm still more metal than you could ever dream of being.

Metal isn't what you look like. Its not a menacing stare or wearing the right clothes. Its a glorious dissatisfication with all things mainstream (including radio metal) and a love for anti-establishment.

You have said nothing to make me thing you are metal. As a matter of fact, your entire existense so far makes me want to slap you for even thinking you are metal.

My 12 yr old son is more metal than you.
 
That's just what i mean, but i wonder why they stare! I wear the hat because i think it looks good, not to look different than everyone else or whatever. Ok, it was wrong to bring up the black clothes, but i was tired as hell!
 
You can wear the hat if you want too, but people stare because they have lots of color, first off. Secondly, people stare because the rastahat denotes two things, as far as your common stereotypes: Bob Marley and pot smoking.

but yeah, DG said the reason. and yes people are stupid.

I would like to wear a swastika sometimes but, hitler went and fucked it(although the hakkors(sp?) is the other way people don't see the difference so easily). So I would mostly be hated because noone knows what it really means.
 
No, people--all people, including you---think by association.

For example, if you saw a pudgy woman in Wal Mart with five kids who were almost well behaved, looking a little frumpy, hair up in a bun, and a little stressed, driving a minivan, would you think she listens to popular music or Slayer?
 
Yes there are. My kids are almost well behaved. Except there are just a loooot of them, so its noisy. They should allow muzzles for children in public. That would make my life so much easier.

Point being though, you wouldn't think this person listens to Slayer...you would make a judgement about the way she looks and dresses..this is association, and it is how people have dictated thier relationships to others in society since we lived in fucking caves. Its just the way it is.
