My 6 months old Chihuahua has a small wound on his head.
Two days ago it bled, but I don't know what caused it to bleed.
The bleeding wasn't severe and stopped in a few seconds.
I applied antiseptic powder to the wound, and today, I noticed that the wound felt hard, like a scab.
There were tiny clumps of fur dropping off, with parts of the scab? attached to the end of the fur.
Is this normal, part of the recovery process, or is it something more serious?
I'm really worried.
The skin is slightly red, but there isn't any pus.
It doesn't seem to be itchy as I've not seen him scratching it even once. I've called the vet, and she told me to bring him over if it gets worse. Is it safe for me to shower him in this condition?
