There's a sharp pain whenever i move my nose ring that i just got done. Is this normal?

I just got my nose pierced the 25th of October and I have been experiencing this stinging sensation when and after i move it a little. My piercer says i need to move it through out the day so it doesn't scab over so i have and i make sure i wash or use hand sanitizer everytime i move it around a little. But whenever i move it around theres this sharp pain that goes through my nose and it stays there for like 5-10 minutes. Is this normal or should i be worried about it getting infected? My nostril is barley red, and when i put the Neospirian on the inside of my nostril it doesn't hurt but when i move it to make sure it doesnt scab over thats when it starts to hurt. Is this normal for my nose to hurt like this? If so, when will that pain go away? Please answer if you have had or do have a nose piercing (or know someone who has had.) And take note: Nose piercings are WAY different than just a normal ear piercing. You're actually going through cartilidge and taking out a chunk of skin, not just making a whole in your ear. So don't answer if you don't have, or had, or know anyone with a nose piercing. Thanks! (:
I don't have an infection, I'm just making sure this is normal. The nostril is barely red, and there's nasty gook coming out of anything.
