A new guy just showed up at my husbands unit last week. He's in the middle of a divorce, so he wasn't allowed to live in the barracks, but his divorce was going to be final in a few weeks (SUPPOSEDLY).
My husband is also somewhat "new" (as in he's been there about 2 months). Anyways, he ended up being guilted into taking this other guy in for a few weeks until his divorce was final and he could move into the barracks. His unit is small, so he's pretty much the only guy living off base who doesn't already have roommates or kids, meaning it was pretty much him or else a hotel.
However, my husband is deploying in 2 weeks. This other guy has no car and so they carpool, but this week was supposed to be my husbands last week of leave before he deploys and he has to spend it running this other guy to and from base since he has no car.
I'm starting to get really pissed off. The last 2 weeks of my husband being here and I'm being crowded out of my own house, I'm losing time with my husband, I'm always running around picking up after a total stranger, and I come home to find random people in my apartment. Now it looks like this guys wife is suing him over something and their divorce ISN'T going to be final "in a few weeks", meaning my husband is going to deploy and he's still going to be here (without a way to get to work)
There has to be something we can do aside from just kicking him out. I do feel bad for him since his wife practically destroyed him already, but is there any way he can get housing on base or something like that?
I don't really know where to go or what to do. My husband is beyond stressed with deployment and can't really deal with running around solving this guys housing problem, this guy seems perfectly complacent to just live there, and I wouldn't even know where to do or who to talk to. It feels like I just have absolutely no say in this...like his unit just "placed" him here until the end of time.
I don't know anybody in my husband unit anyways since pretty much every moment since he got here has been spent in pre-deployment preparations so I haven't met/seen/spoken to a single person in his unit (plus half of them already deployed a few weeks ago, just setting up for the second half)
I know I could always just tell him to get a hotel and take taxis to work, but I'd rather exhaust all other options before I do that
