Basically this is only a theory abou tthe main characters that are left on the island (Like jack, Kate, Sawyer, etc)
As we know, there are "flashsideways" that exist that shows what would have happened if the airplane didn't crash on the island in the first place. The characters in these flashsideways are starting to get memories of what happene don the island, so basically there are two copies of the characters, one on the island, and one off the island.
My theory is that everybody on the island (Jack, Kate, Hugo, etc) will die on the island, but will be survived by their alternate reality self. I was thinking this before, just when the characters off the island started to get memories of the island. My theory started to make more snese when in one episode, Jin, Sun, and Sayid all died in the submarine. Honestly, these characters have survived all this time on and off the island, and 3 of th main characters that were there from the start died in the matter of minutes! Is this OK because they are maybe still living, but off the island?
