Theists and Atheists, may we have a debate?

I am very curious as to the concepts that have been presented on the Homosexual .vs. Heterosexual argument. Yet no one from either said, that I have seen as of yet, has ever explained how someones sexual preference impacts their immediate lives to where some Theistic groups feel the need to picket against Homosexuality at will. So for the purpose of debate... How does someones sexual preference impact your immediate life?
