The Yes Man - Your thoughts?

I was suprised there wasn't a recent thread on this already but has anyone seen it yet?

What did you think of it? Were you happy or did you feel it wasnt up to your expectations?

I saw it last night and was glad to see Jim Carrey back on the screen and I thought this was was a very good film even if at times it was predictable it had a good message and I would recommend it :D

I thought it was fun (rate it about the same as Bruce Almighty) and decent film. As long as your not expecting Godfather Part 2 I think you'll enjoy it.

Is it crap? YES!!

Is JC as annoying as ever? YES!!

Would I erase this film from existense if I could? YES!!

Should anybody who goes to the cimena to see it demand a refund? YES!!

It is a waste of time? YES!!

And so on...

This is a comeback film for Jim Carrey but having said that, you know you are getting about two hours or whatever the running time is, of RUBBER FACES and SLAPSTICK COMEDY! It's not bad, but you basically know what you are in for.

I thought it was alright, nothing spectacular but not terribly bad. I have to say that his 'love interest' (forget her name) was slightly irritating

I am fairly sure the "love interest" was in the that horrible film "The Happening" and she reminRAB me of a younger, brunette version of Meg Ryan.

She's inconsistent. I wouldn't go to see something just because she was in it, but I wouldn't not see it because of her either. I thought she was good in this, as well as in Elf and Bridge to Terabithia. She was perfect in WeeRAB. She wasn't so good in The Happening, Hitchhiker's Guide, or Tin Man, but none of those were any good anyway, so it may have been poor direction rather than entirely her fault.

Yes and I was disappointed that other sharing than sharing the same name and basic concept, there was no other similarity between the two!! I'm sure some of the stories from Danny's book could have translated just as well onto the big screen.

It was surprisingly heartwarming. I liked that the premise of the film wasn't grounded in 'magic' and I kind of liked the pro-active message, and the situations weren't as cringe-y as I thought they were going to be. I liked it.

I'm not a fan of Jim Carrey but I enjoyed this film. In fact it's one of the few films where I've laughed out loud at the cinema! Some of the visual gags are so ridiculous they are really funny....
the Harry Potter Party and the scenes with Carl and his boss Norm, particularly the sellotape routine!
It did put me in mind of 'Bruce Almighty', which is not a bad thing as I also enjoyed that film.

Definitely 8/10 for one of the best laughs of 2008!

I've read the book and still enjoyed the film. As long as you treat them as two separate things then it's ok. I went into the film knowing that it wasn't going to be a carbon copy of the book and was just glad that they even credited danny wallace at all. They could easily have got away with pretending it was an original idea because of how much was changed. Was pleased to see Danny in a cameo at the bridal shower party too.

not really!

Just doesn't suit your personal tastes

It's a lot better than some of his films, but I can't see why people compare with with Bruce Almighty at all! Many people (including people who aren't finals of the manic version of Jim Carrey) thought it was an above average film

Not a classic, but certainly not that bad.

And just to remind people...

personal dislike does not automatically equal a steaming pile of manure! If it did, I would be well within my rights to murder most of the posters on this forum in cold blood!

right that's resolution number 3 broken for this year!

Did anyone else sit there and go:

My god jim careys getting older

I didnt believe the chemistry was there with the love interest but mainly because I felt she was too young for him!!

But I did love it and am off to see bedtime stories tonight!!

So, he wasn't rubber-faced, or over-the-top?

Don't waste ruining your resolutions on me. I'm not worth it. Half my opinions (at least half) are daft anyway, and are done to provide humour and to comfort myself over the fact I have a pin dick. :o
