This is a story I have created.
Can you proof read it ?
I have proof read it many times but just in case
It was by far, the worst day of my life. I always knew this day would come but never had I expected it to be so terrible.
When I woke up (which was 20 minutes later then usual) it was pouring with rain. I had to leave the house without any breakfast, make up, and my hair was a complete disaster.
I saw my tram coming so I had to run for it, as the tram went speeding past me, a group of boys on the tram from St. Kevins yelled out to me ‘NICE POKO DOTS, BABE!’ I was mortified to see my skirt had gone up and I had flashed everyone with my cheap, baggy, $2 Big-W undies.
I had to wait for the next tram which caused me to be late to tutorial. My teacher was telling me she’d let me off with a warning, just then as my mobile went off. She gave me a detention.
When I left tutorial, I quickly read the text. It was from Lisa mocking one of my close yet annoying friends, Stacy. I sent a reply agreeing with her. As soon as I sent it I realised I had sent it to my entire contact list. Uh oh. My friends didn’t talk to me the entire day.
I received yet another detention because I was trying to convince Stacy that someone had actually stolen my phone and sent those nasty texts.
Finally, school had finished for the day and I just made my tram. I thought all was good when I turned my head to see those St. Kevin boys from the morning looking back at me. Before they could say anything, I pulled the cord and ran off the tram. As I hit the nature strip, I realised I had stepped in some dog droppings. Obviously, the boys had seen the incident as I could hear their piercing laughter.
I went to checked the tram timetable and realised someone had scribbled all over the times. I thought nothing could make my day. I settled on walking home. When I had walked half way, I saw some nice looking birds. I made the mistake of looking into their eyes. Next thing I know, I’m running home with a magpie pecking into my head. Never again will I go for Collingwood in AFL. I was right. Nothing could make my day better.
Or could it?
I finally reached home and realised I had no key. I called my mother and she said she wouldn’t be home for at least 2 hours.
It was getting dark and still no sign of mum. I was just about to call mum when I heard a balloon pop in the backyard.
‘YOU IDIOT!’ I heard a familiar voice.
I went around to the backyard and saw the gate was wide open…
‘SURPRISE!’ All my friends and family screamed.
‘But… it’s not even my birthday. Not for another 2 months!’ I stammered.
‘We know but then if we had a party near your birthday then you wouldn’t be very surprised, would you?.’ my mother smiled.
‘What’s that smell?’ my friend Stacy asked looking down at my feet
‘Uhhh… nothing.’ I replied embarrassed.
So I guess it was the worst day of my life but it was one of the best nights.
