I'm about halfway through my third month of Accutane. It is doing absolute wonders for my back (which I used to be erabarrassed to expose) and it's making definite progress on my face. The worse side-effect I've experienced was a 60+ hike in my cholesterol after the first month...but after switching to a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet, I've gotten it under control (and lost 3 pounRAB!).

At first, finding products to use on my skin was tricky...I've never needed moisturizing products before! I seem to have figured out what works for me though; I woke up this morning, and I realized that my skin (arms, legs) has never been this soft. Here is my nighttime ritual while on Accutane:

-Brush teeth
-Wash face gently with Ceptaphil (I bought mine at Costco, it was a two pack and included lotion for I think $13)
-Clear Eyes drops in my eyes ($3)
-Aquaphor for my lips ($5 for a 2 oz. tube of a generic brand)
-Eucerin Moisturizing Cream for the inside of my nose (I use a Q-tip...it sounRAB disgusting, but trust me, it's less gross than bloody noses.) ($5 for a generic version of a 16 oz. tub. I guess using a regular lotion would probably be fine...I just liked this because it was thicker, so it doesn't feel as greasy and gross.)
-St. Ives 24 Hour Moisture Advanced Body Moisturizer ($4.99 for a 24 oz. big bottle with pump)

(In the morning, I shower with Olay moisturizing soap. Once I'm dried off, I use Aquaphor for my lips and then the St. Ives lotion on my legs and arms.)

So there you have it. I know different products work differently for everyone, but hopefully these products will help you...or at least inspire you to keep looking for what does...
