I played it for the first time at a friend's place the other day and I can see how it would be a lot of fun. Of course I could also see how I would get bored with it quickly.
The Wiimote is cool and all but the fact that a lot of games are simply tayloring themselves to use a remote's features kinda demonstrates why the Wii seems like more of a gimmick console than anything. Thankfully the price is low and it has a lot of other cool features, like online stuff and the enormous backwards compatability.
But I just thought it was interesting that I did one thing with the remote, successfully completed what I was doing (in about 15 seconds) and then just passed it to the next person. I didn't really feel the desire to use the remote again. Very meh experience really.
Not that the PS3 or XB360 are better, but I think if all the games are more and more based on just fucking around with the remote, eventually the software library will be diluted with games that have maybe 20 minutes of fun value before the gimmicky feeling kicks in.
Anyone else get this sense?
