All of Nicholas Cage's films are always entertaing.
He is just such a good actor!
I haven't seen this film yet. Only the adverts.
But I know 100% that this film is gonna be brill!

Does any1 else see Nicholas Cage in the way I do??!

Through rose tinted glasses, while using every board option available (hell, why not throw a hyperlink and an email link in there too)?

No, I can't say I do.

Oh, and for the record, The Wicker Man remake is crap.

Maybe, but not me. Let's be realistic. For as much great stuff he has done over the last decade or so eg Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation etc he has also done some utter crap eg The Wicker Man, Bringing Out The Dead.

He's okay - I suppose. The wicker Man is a very good example of what Hollywood are really dire at and should never, ever do: Remake a classic film. The Wicker Man, with Edward Woodward, is genuinely brilliant; Nicholas cage's version is like a big pile of poo surrounded by a moat if diarrhea which festers in a swamp of bottomless crap.

Yes, he does. Not that I've seen it (the original is fabulous, and from what I've heard, the remake is abysmal.)

I do like him in some films, but thought he was absolutely atrocious in Captain Corelli's Mandolin - his Italian accent was dire and he destroyed the character (mind you, the whole film was pretty appalling!) I did love him in Moonstruck though.

Some of "Cage's films are great where as others are dire.

I have not seen "The Wickerman" Remake yet. Can't say that I am in much rush either.
Got to say it is a film that should have been left alone really.

The Wicker Man remake is a misogynistic insult to the original movie, that misses the point by such a wide margin as to be almost (but not actually) laughable. Cage can be a great perfomer, but he's swimming against the tide in this mess.

When I saw the original post on this thread I thought the OP was having a laugh. I don't know of any good reviews of The Wicker Man, the three people I know who have been to see it all said it was abysmal, and Nicolas Cage seems to have gone from playing quirky Johnny Depp style roles to appearing in any old crap that will have him. Still not sure whether the OP was taking the mickey, or whether they really mean it (probably after having seen Wild At Heart and Leaving Las Vegas).

I like Nic Cage alot - he's versatile enough to do heavy drama (Leaving Las Vegas), comedy (Raising Arizona) and downright weirdness (Wild At Heart) but he has made a few bad decisions.

I haven't seen the Wicker Man but, according to IMDB, he's got no less than 8 new films in the pipeline, so I'm hoping for good things which will redeem him from what is, by all accounts, a pile of poo.

What is shocking is that there are some people who won't bother to see the original and will think that the remake is a great film, not probably even realising it is a remake

I can't say I'm a big Nicolas Cage fan but I loved Adaptation and Raising Arizona

He was in that kind of pseudo remake of It's A Wonderful Life called The Family Man which was OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again

That is what bugs me about remakes, when some people don't even know there is an original and praise the remake so much...

As for The Wickerman remake, absolutely horrendous, don't know why some of the cast even thought about doing this movie.

I've read various reviews about this re-make, and most seem to think it's not a patch on the original. I'll wait till I've seen it to make up my own mind.

Agreed! Boring drivel. I can't believe I was looking forward to seeing it so much. Big, big disappointment. I wouldn't even waste money hiring the Dvd when it comes out.
