The Who in concert

Dunno if any of you know--but the Who are touring around this year. Granted, it's not the real Who without Moon and Entwistle, but they were still pretty damned good. Played a lot of stuff from their new albums, some of them are decent.

Their drummer is Zak Starkey--Ringo Starr's son. He's actually a pretty competent drummer--he kept up with them on songs like "I Can't Explain"

Anyone else see them?

My friend is going, tickets cost him about $400 CAD.

I don't think my ticket cost more than 80 bucks. then again, I was in the nosebleed section. But we had a great crowd--a lot of people on their feet rocking out, smoking pot, etc...

id like to check it out, especially after listening to Tommy for the first time yesterday (OMG i know ) but like you said its not the same without Moon and Entwistle.

I saw them last week. They were good. Sad to see them look so old though. If you have an opportunity I suggest going.

I've been trying to see all the old legenRAB that I absolutely love before they die...so far I've seen the Who, Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Paul McCartney.

McCartney's concerts are amazing--no opening band, just 3 and a half hours (yeah, 3 1/2 hours!) of just Paul

I'm seeing them next month. Have seen 'em four times before, twice with Entwistle. They have a new album coming on Oct. 30th and are playing a bunch of new material on tour. I really can't say enough about them. I would say this is the real Who. But a changed one. The songwriter, guitarist, co-singer, and spiritual center of the band is still there in Townshend. And the all important voice of The Who is still there in Daltrey. Moon has been gone too long to really matter as they were seen as The Who without him and Pino makes up nicely for John, along with Pete's brother Simon on giutar. Is it the "original" experience? No. Even if those other guys were still alive it wouldn't be. But it has what it neeRAB to still be The Who.
