The Whining has started Will Harry Reid do as he says and use Budget

Reconciliation to pass Health Care Bill? Mitch McConnell the minority leader of the House is crying that "Budget Reconciliation has been used to raise taxes, but has never been used to restructure one-sixth of the economy.” Actually Mitch it was used to cut a trillion or a good percentage of our GDP under President Bush. Surely Mitch will understand that Health Care is much much more important than giving a trillion dollars to the rich? Or will he? He has threatened Bipartisan rage against this? Good luck on that as almost 90% of Democrats approve of Health Care.

Other than an extreme Hissy fit, what can Republicans do, they already are doing ZERO to help the Democrats and anything less than that will not be felt by Democrats. With 28% percent approving of the Republican party it is really hard for his threats the mean anything.

So what will Harry Reid do? Risk the inevitable Republican Hissy Fit or do as they say and get nothing done.

I wanted to answer...but your ridiculous claim that GWB "Gave" trillions to the rich derailed my thought. Tax cuts are not the same as "giving" money to the rich. It is just not taking money. BIG difference. Learn it.

ADD:
On to the actual questions. Reid can do what he wants. It isn't the Republicans he fears, it is the 2010 election. If he can't get the public to support a particular bill, if they force it through via reconsiliation, he will simply anger the voters and the Dems will get abused in the next election. Reid and his buddies are smart enough to realize that, which is why they are trying not to use it.

The question for them is...if they can't produce a "popular" bill, is this reform bill important enough to force through even if it means giving a bunch of democrat seats in congress to the republicans in the process?

ADD:
Chairman Obama is right,
the last time it was used to finish that budget because congress was approaching the date when ALL the government workers would have had to stop getting paid. (i.e. work for free, or stop working)

The process of reconciliation was used to end debate on a budget and allow the Federal government to continue to operate in the face of an opposition filibuster. When the budget for the next year hasn't passed and that fiscal year is starting the government would have to lay off all the government employees and shut down.

This has nothing to do with health care reform.

The weirdest thing is,when Bush gave that "Trillion Dollar Tax Cut" to the Rich,I somehow got a noticeable decrease in the amount the Federal Govt steals from me to waste. And I'm not wealthy, wonder how that happened?
