The Wake

"It had begun to snow again. He watched sleepily the flakes, silver and dark, falling obliquely against the lamplight. The time had come for him to set out on his journey westward. Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling on every part of the dark central plain, on the treeless hills, falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and, farther westward, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves. It was falling, too, upon every part of the lonely churchyard on the hill where JimF lay buried. It lay thickly drifted on the crooked crosses and headstones, on the spears of the little gate, on the barren thorns. His soul swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead." -James Joyce

I don't think he'll be back.

Post your wreaths here.

The forum is in entropy without him, the cawk.

God bless you, you Irish prick. A decent bit of poetry is just what we need around here (one of me favorites, btw).

A stiff drink - would be nice, also.

Peace, brotherdoobie

I'll go into hiding once a month if it'll bring you out of the woodwork, even if it's just to make a couple of posts.

I'm fantastic, on a weeks leave so doing stuff with the weans and fannying about. Just watched 2 really shite football matches which have probly guaranteed both us and England not getting to Euro 2008. Chances are no-one from the Brit Isles will be there.

Hey ho what ya gonna do.
