The Vikings DVD

'The Vikings', starring Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis, was one of my favourite films when a child, so I was delighted to see that it has come out, fully remastered, as a DVD. Delight, however, turned to dismay when I went to buy it only to discover that it was a 'full screen 4 x 3' version. The film was made in Technirama, a widescreen rival to CinemaScope. I have searched in vain to find a widescreen version - Amazon's entry doesn't make clear whether it is widescreen or not. Does anyone know whether a wide version is available in this country and, if so, where I can get it?

The region 1 release is 2.35:1 according to imdb.com if that's any good to you

I have the R2 UK version of The Vikings and despite what it says on the box I can assure you that IT IS in widescreen (2.35:1 anamorphic). And good quality it is too, the best I have ever seen it.
