The Thin Man films

I have been watching the box set of these films and they are really good films, yes they are dated but they have very good stories that are family friendly too.
I was wondering if they did remakes who could reprise the William Powell and Myrna Loy roles. I thought of Bill Pullman and Sandra Bullock. Any ideas?

I really cannot think of any modern actors or actresses who would have that amazing lightness of touch in their performances to match William Powell and Myrna Loy (surely one of the most underrated, and forgotten about, actresses in Hollywood's history).

The one thing that makes me chuckle about the Thin Man films is the amount of alcohol they pour down their throats at all times of the day. If it were real life they'd be off to the nearest rehab before you could say "Cocktail, darling?".

Don't forget the smoking as well, the clothes they wore must have been a bit stinky after a days filming. They must have got through dozens of packs. In some scenes it is hard to find the non-smokers, if there was such a thing then.
I have to say I loved watching the tricks of Asta. I wonder if the sale of that breed of dog went up due to the films, wouldn't be at all surprised.
