The tension on my belt on my dodge dakota with 5.2V8 always gets loose?

i know how to tighten it but it wont stay tight for very long how do i keep it tight without it getting loose again
it is a serpentine belt (the only belt i could be talking about) and it doesnt squeal when its tight only when i look and see that the belt is loose and i have to move the adjuster pulley to tighten it
 
if its a new belt just keep adjusting it a couple times. maybe its bad and the internal wires are busted (yhe belt is just streching) if your adjusting bolt is coming loose try double nuts or lock tite
