the speakers in my dodge ram don't sound too good?

I mean they sound good but the bass on it is a more of a rumble than a bass its not a loud rumble just more than it is a clean smooth bass what could it be because i don't have them screwed on right or because the small cushions that were in the door came out when i put these in it sound more like the bass is just rumbling the door softly not really bad or anything
 
it could be the speaker is hitting the door doing a bass note to check this pull the door cover of and see if the sound changes if it does there's your problem if not im not sure what to try
