The sound on my cellphone isn't working?

I have a verizon chocolate 2
My problem is: I can have my phone volume as loud as it can be and when someone calls me it doesn't make any noise at all.
Also when ever someone calls or I call them, I can't hear them, But they can hear me.

Can someone tell me whats wrong and if I can fix it without going to a verizon store?

And no I didn't drop my phone or anything, it was working on night and then the next morning when I woke up, it wasn't.

I was going to say maybe the settings are set for no ring or silence, but then you said you can't hear them.

So my guess is that the speaker for the earpiece is damaged somehow.....maybethe soder came loose or was defective from the beginning.

Try taking an earpiece or blue tooth and test with that. If you can hear through the earpiece then it is a probem with the actua phone speaker line. If you still can not hear through the earpiece you will need to exchange the whole phone for one that is not defective.
