The smartphone for me?

I'm switching from a Verizon Samsung SCH-i730 running WM5 PPC in the next couple weeks, and I'm looking for a new phone.

My requirements include:
Readily available VNC/RDP clients
Readily available SSH Clients
Decent data connectivity speeds
Tetherable over bluetooth and USB to OSX, Linux, XP and Vista
Hardware keyboard

Would be nice to have:
Camera (decent quality)
Client to do push e-mail with *some* freeware push server that I can have running on a local machine that can crunch down all my e-mail into one stream (looking for recommendations here too).
uPNP client
Way to use phone keyboard as a bluetooth HID for other devices where fast typing would be nice.
Mini/Micro/SD slot, SDHC compatible

Pipe dream (for now):
All of the above
SSH server running on the phone, full bash tools

The services I'm looking at are Sprint (the SERO plan) and AT&T, with some employer discounts from my University. AT&T would still be a considerably more expensive option.

The two phones that have caught my eye so far are the BB Curve with AT&T, and the HTC Mogul with Sprint. The Mogul looks very nice, and I'm used to the WM environment. The BB is a very slick little device, but doesn't seem as powerful or versatile as the Mogul, is that a fair assessment assuming I am willing to make registry hacks and whatever else is needed on WM devices?

Assuming plan and phone costs are not material in making the decision, are there other phones out there that would do all of my needs *and* my wants? (No, no iPhone for me)

Your options sound good, though I'm not too sure WM6 can tether with Linux...haven't tried it. I would also check out the Nokia E61i (Unlocked, WiFi) and E62 (from AT&T, no WiFi) as well. S60 has all the software you're looking for as well (though I think one has to pay for the RDP client).
