Both of these promotions are for The Simpsons Movie opening July 27. The first one is for the contest for the movie premiere in a Springfield city chosen by online voters at:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/simpsons-contest.htm

Also, for the movie, 7-Eleven has converted 11 stores in the U.S. and 1 in Canada into Kwik-E-Marts. Various fictional products have real-life counterparts now, such as the Squishee (replacing Slurpee for the month in 7-Eleven stores) with the exception of Duff Beer, since the movie is rated PG-13.

Vote for Jersey!

We never get any big hollywood premiers out here, and are probably officially known as Americas Crudbucket ;)... I think that was the line, heh.

Knowing what happened in the show, I'd be afraid to eat Krusty-O's :).

Springfield, Colorado would be awesome though I don't even think they have a movie theatre. That place is in the middle of nowhere and smells like cow pies. :p

Springfield, MO is where I want the premier to be, and not to be biased but out of the 5 videos I saw it was clearly the best. I'm kind of surprised, what are some other good videos? I don't recommend New Jersey lol

The inclusion of Frostilicus makes this a win.

I feel cheated Portland wasn't included in the list--only the obligatory "spoiled" cities like New York and LA got one. Just for that I'm going to start pronouncing Groening's name the wrong way as "groaning." Who needs the Kwik-E-Mart? I dooooooo......

I voted for Springfield, New Jersey, not only because it's the closest one to me (Even though it's still a ways out), but that song in their video was very catchy and the effort put behind it all was excellent. Illinois' video was also well done and gave some convincing facts from their own 'Comic Book Guy' but it's the relative location to me that put New Jersey over the top.

Personally I hope that neither Vermont nor Florida get it. Vermont's video was pretty poorly done with the people playing Homer and Bart being the worst aspect of it. And to Florida, being cheap is no excuse for not putting forth a good effort and trying to make up for it by making it a 'challenge'.

The fact that Springfield, VA isn't even being considered for the premiere is disappointing, considering how close it is to myself.

Both 7 Eleven and The Simpsons are so global, they could have expanded promotion to overseas. I would travel within a 200 mile radius to see a real-life Quick-E-Mart and take pictures and buy stuff and sell it on Ebay (lol j/k).

There's one near me in New York City, though if I go there it would probably be crowded as hell...

Well that would be nice. They should've also set something up with McDonalds to offer Krusty Burgers.

Burger King would make more sense. They're going to start promoting The Simpsons Movie anyway once they're done with their Transformers promotion.

I can't believe how HUGE this movies becoming. Well, I can see why, but people are spending so much money on it, IT'S AWESOME! I read in an article that Springfield, Mass. got Kennedy to help advertise for their city. He's having V.A.'s over from The Simpsons including Mayor Quimby's V.A. lol
