Scientists Ignore the Possibilities? Russian scientist are predicting that solar cycles are going to cause a deep cooling period of the Earth starting around 2030 - 2040.

This view is held by Russian politicians who are using conflicts today in countries like Georgia and the Ukraine to gain control of gas and oil pipelines that supply Western Europe. The strategy is that Russia can use it's control over these pipelines to gain control over the West when global temperatures plummet in a few years.

How can 97% of the consensus of western scientist be so arrogant to completely ignore and refuse to believe scientific findings of an entire nation of scientists who see the Sun, not Man as the source for all climate change? And does it serve the public interest to ignore and not hedge a position that we could be wrong and it could get colder in the future?

Could nations be caught off guard in their deep theological belief in man made "Global Warming" that the entire western civilization collapses because politicians listened to faulty scientific guesses?
 
My, why would Putin and Medvedev ever LIE about something like that? I mean, it's not as if they have a vested interest in propping up carbon fuel demand/delaying carbon abatement or anything...

But hey, I'm sure you're right, and those guys are telling the truth. We all know that autocratic strongmen are trustworthy, while those fat-cat US government scientists can't be trusted, what with their sweet 5-figure incomes which, as everyone knows, are conditioned upon their support for the bizarre, quasi-theological notion that human emissions of greenhouse gases are exerting a greenhouse effect on the atmosphere.
