The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Since my favourite movie of all time is on tv tonight (ITV 1 11.30 pm) I thought I'd start a thread to find out what you all think about it? I'm fully aware that in the majority of cases you either adore or hate this movie, there isn't really a half way mark. So, do you love this movie to bits, could watch it over and over, know every single audience participation call back and think Tim Curry was deliriously brilliant and beautiful? Or do you loath it, get offended by the subject matter and think all the fuss is ridiculous? Or is there in fact an 'in-between' response, you've seen it, it was ok, so what?

Let me know :)

I have it on DVD and it's great. I don't like the new remixed songs on the movie now, which are present on the DVD and all future TV broadcasts. I remember taping it off BBC 2 years ago and the soungs were in their original version and sounded better. The guy who now sings Rocky's bit during the floorshow is wrong, all wrong!

Padzter :D

Love the movie, had the great pleasure of seeing it a few times down at the screen near Baker Street where they used to show it every week, complete with audience participation - wonderful, fantastic night out, fell desperatley in love with one bloke who used to turn up as Riff Raff every week, much to the disgust of my then other half :o

Brilliant movie, I have it on DVD too, and saw it at the theatre when Anthony Head played Frank-N-Furter.
Shame it's on ITV1 they will ruin it with adverts.
'Sweet Transvestite' is my fave song.

I LOVE THIS FILM! My mum showed it me when I was young, and I have the movie ost, a stage recording and of course the dvd. watched it the other week, and im always singing it. and i introduced it to my frienRAB who also love it.

i sooo fancy frank!

I must be one of the rare people who don't actually feel strongly about this film, either way :o

I've seen it (mostly to find out what the fuss is all about  ) and while I thought it was good & delightfully weird, I still don't understand the fuss and haven't watched it since. Maybe I need another go, this time with the full audience participation thingy

I saw it and thought 'ooo yeh this is good...a bit weird' and didn't think much of it...then i watched it again...'ooo actually there's something about this...' then i watched it a couple more times and for some strange reason i fell madly in love with it/Tim Curry....It deffinatly wasn't love at first sight though! So yeah, give it another chance!

A lot of people go mental over this film.

I don't know what the fuss is about either.
I think it's overated.
It was a while ago I saw it, but I was a bit bored. It was okay I suppose. It takes a lot for me to like a musical. I might give it another shot.

But you get some people who are almost in tears crying in euphoria about this film. It's only a film, but what can you do? Slap some sense into them or something? :D

It reminRAB me of Trekkies who go all obsessive about something.

First heard of this when I was 12, but didn't see it until Channel 4 first showed it. Loved it ever since. I have the DVD and 6 different versions of it on CD, the best being the Roxy cast one, although it's a shame the original cast one was produced by the vile Jonathan King. I can't say I like any audience participation as it gets in the way of hearing the film proper, but for a live show it's quite a hoot (I saw the Robin Cousins/Nicholas Parsons one).
I introduced the film to my best (straight) friend and he's often thanked me for it.

I don't really care for the Timewarp as I think it gets overplayed, my favourite is the floorshow.

btw I've often thought that the character of Frank'n'Furter is what Joan Collins based Alexis Colby on!

All together now!

'Michael Renny was ill the day the earth stood still'

Are you singing along? :)

P.s. It's a shame they can't add the audience participation sound track on interactive.

I am a huge fan of this film, I have one of the posters up in my dining room, have the dvd, soundtrack etc.

Seen the stage show 3 times (not nearly enough), Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time I saw it I was like 'What the f**k?!!' but I kept with it and now its one of my fave films of all time!!

Love Sweet Transvestite and The Floor Show best.

Love This Film. Watched it last night and don't think i can ever get bored of it.

Remember as a kid when it was on late one night, And i had fallen a sleep with the tv on and woke up when the singing lips at the beginning started and it scared the living daylights out of me.
