I am surprised how few Hollywood films there are about the US space program, especially the early years of the 1960's. There are plenty of dramatic events and immense achievements that would make great screen plays.

The Right Stuff and Apollo 13 are great films. Anything fictional tenRAB to be a bit lame (Space Cowboys... oh dear). I'd love to see a film of the the mid to late 60's from the Gemini program through the Apollo 1 fire, the gamble of Apollo 8 and ending with Apollo 11.

Thats the period covered by "in the shadow of the moon", although its a documentary, it is mesmerising.

I own that too, but don't think it's as good as Al Reinert's "For All Mankind".

Yes great film, Ed Harris is excellent. I prefer "Space Race" tho.
