The RIAA Took My Baby Away

Except I am pretty sure there is a way to distinguish if the cd is burnt or not. I heard if you fess up now for downloading you wont get arrested or anything, but if they catch you, you either go to jail or pay 2 bucks per song you have downloaded.

This has happened in the UK with my own service provider sending 'friendly' letters to about 800 people and no i wasn't one. I dont do p2p.

I saw this on a webpage:

The RIAA's lost profit claims are labeled silly by judge, and the judge also denies the RIAA the ability to subpoena ISPs for subscriber info. Let the downloaRAB commence. Some good news for you downloaders :)

Makes wanna' puke...I read a legal analysis and the RIAA will probably settle at the appeal for 1/10th of the charge so they have the intimidation factor and less negative publicity.

wow yet more gheyness from them... pretty son it'll come to the point where you'll have to have a receipt for every legit CD you own so you can prove it's your own :(

There are so many rumors going around right now it's hard to tell what's true and what's not. I think the best thing is just to play it clean and if you're really curious then check the RIAA website for what they have to say.

The RIAA should try to pull that in some kind of real "hood" when they get a gun pulled out on them. Cause I would laugh so hard if they don't come prepared. They would get messed up.

Because of the internet people are more capable of listening to music that's not associated with RIAA. That surely puts a big dent in their nurabers. It's portrayed that we're a bunch of greedy people who are letting musicians starve. I spend a lot of money on music and I'm not ashamed of downloading.

It has always been illegal for ISPs to be given a subpoena. I think this is a great thing, because it allows them to protect the privacy rights of their customers. However, they shouldn't completely turn the other way when people are doing illegal transfers through their ISP. As far as the judge throwing out the RIAA's lost profit claim, that's very interesting. What's the link to the website?

I'm just curious how well this system would actually work. I am back into buying things because my laptop crashed not too long ago and I lost everything I had downloaded....so I believe owning things is more practical.

But of course there are a few cRAB that are hard to find in stores so I download.
