The pics looks good and could be the real McCoy. I liked the idea that the thread discussed that OS6 would be available for the T3 a month after this release........don't believe it but it was interesting that it was posted. The T3 does have the minimum requirements to run Cobalt but I still doubt that there will be many takers to upgrade unless it's going to make the T3 magically sprout WiFi.
I like the first glance...let's see what the actual specs are when it comes out.
It will interesting how many "views" this will get. Over at TreoCentral the pics posted of the Next Gen Treo has over 100,000 views...it is the most viewed thread ever in the history of TreoCentral...maybe you'll start the trend here.

I think its real. Check the thread again for more pics and some more info/specs etc. He claims a length of 4.7 inches which is basically what I calculated from the original photo. No info about size of battery as yet but he also says it feels a bit heavier than the T3 which could indicate a bigger battery.....Having said a few weeks ago that I wouldnt be 'early adopting' OS6, I may have to change my mind. I love my old TT but its getting a little long in the tooth......

I posted the same thing on rabroad a couple of hours ago and it has 103 views already..... The original at 1src has over 2000! I guess a lot of people have been waiting for a new Palm unit. I know I have...
The T5 looks real....agreed. It fits what I've heard via the other "rumor" mills.
Here will be my dilemna....my company has just committed to using Goldmine which is ok because we had been trying to use an inhouse program based upon Foxpro. In addition, they are looking at augmenting our soon to be new laptops (lease is up so we will be getting new units in Jan) with some PDA's. The lean is towards Pocket PC.
I've been lurking in the Pocket PC Forum for about a week and been researching some of the units. I may not be able to persuade the company to go Palm so I may have to regress towards Pocket PC and even give up my Treo.
Even though I like my Treo and would probably love the Next Gen of Treo or Palm....I'm torn until the company makes a decision.
It will probably be at least another month before any decisions are made and even then hardware won't be purchased until mid-Jan so this early adopter might just have to wait.
So I set back with baited breath (beer breath at least, and will have to watch all of the fun until I get a clearer direction. I hate to buy a new Treo or Palm just to have to regress to PPC mode.

Def. looking good. I like the T|C d-pad as well; the T3 one has never felt quite right, for me at least.

Did a Google Image search for Tungsten T4. Got the following link and picture:

I was wondering about that...what happend to T4? Why did Palm jump to T5 directly?
Another concern is the word that Palm will offer Cobalt for the T3. This I am very sceptical about....Palm has never done this in the past. Guess with their marketing eye lately anything is possible.

apparently 'four' is a bogey word in Japanese (sounds like the word for death or microsoft or something). Recall PalmIII->PalmV!!
Wasnt there a OS3->OS4 upgrade in the dim and distant past???
also, PTL's T4 is an acknowledged fake and has been around for a while. There are good grounds to believe that they are all fakes (there is another one on pda24/7 today). As I said in another post on another forum, welcome to silly season!!! Hopefully, P1 will make some kmind of announcement soon....its all good fun tho'

One interesting thing mentioned was that one source said the T5 will have flash memory, which will allow your data to stay on the device if the battery is completely drained. If this is true, then it sounds like the battery life will have a significant improvement.
