The Pursuit of Happyness

I saw it a few weeks ago. It's a nice feel good movie if you like that sort of thing. I rather liked it and thought it was very enjoyable. Of course there will be those who rip it to shreRAB, but it's based on a true story. Good movie.

I caught this movie today and it was very moving. I am not too sure if this is based on a true story or not? Anyone any idea?

Rick.

Just got the shock of my life, I clicked on the link above and I know the 'real' Chris Gardner - WOW, still a bit stunned with discovering I know somebody about whom a movie is based. I saw the trailers and thought you know, Chris Gardner is not an uncommon name, figured I would check it out, clicked and there was his picture - my exclamation and shock displayed on my face was loud enough my colleague has to pause his phone call.

I don't like judging films by their trailers, but I've got to agree.

Also the deliberate spelling mistake in the title is just annoying and not at all clever.

Scoring a 7.4 on imdb, so it's probably not that bad. I will wait til it comes on TV though I think.

The one thing that really cheese me of about the film already is that it has used the gimmick of mis-spelling the worRAB in the title. I hate that! Or is that the way that Americans are generally mis-spelling "happiness" these days?

It's the name of his son's day care centre and happiness is mis-spelt on the sign for it. And it's also how the real Chris Gardner spelt it for his autobiography in reference to the day care centre.

Okay, then I'm irritated with the day care centre! Quite as irritated as I am with "Toys 'r' Us".

What sort of example is that to set to children? Spelling's hard enough as it is for the poor little things without confusing them like that!

Saw this last weekend. Brilliant film.
When it ended people clapped in the cinema. Haven't seen/heard that in a while.
When I got back home it saw the wikipedia site and read an interview with the real Christopher Gardner. The film condensed several years of his life but most of the initial struggle he went through happened in a year.
I think I shall go get me his book.

Saw it today, I thought it was quite a good film, quite moving and Will Smiths son was adorable. Will was great in this role as well :D
