In relation to functions. The profit from the production and sale of ipod players is given by the function P(x)=450x-0.1x2(squared)-2000 where x is the number of units produced and sold.
a) what is P(500)? Interpret this result.
This is what I have done so far on a:
P(500)= 450(500) x 0.1(500)2 (<-squared)- 200
=198000
b) what is the profit from the production of 4000 units? write this in function notation.
So I did:
450(4000)-0.1(4000)(squared)-2000
=198000
First of all, what the heck? How does that happen? how do I explain this. Any help would be appreciated.
