shape than dealer installed one? I decided to try to change my own oil to try to save some money and avoid the dealership who plan to tell me my tires need rotating (after driving only 6200 miles...?) so I bought 6 quarts of oil, the exact filter specified in my manual and a pan to drain the old oil into. When I went to do it today I found the things I needed before starting, and I had one heck of a time just finding the filter. Apparently it's buried just beneath the power steering pump and above a ton of metal and can only be reached as far as I could tell by shoving your hand around to the front of the metal from under the car and twisting your shoulders and neck to still be able to see what you're doing. Once that was acomplished, I realized the filter I had bought was bigger around than the one installed by the dealer at the last oil change. I doubt the one I bought would even fit through that little hole to get it up there. Any ideas? Also is there an easier way to get to it?
