The Ocean's Eleven Casino Robbery Plot

Can someone please tell me, in lamens terms, what exactly happened when Danny Ocean and his team robbed The Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand?

I always get confused when I watch the film. I think I know but it seems extremely complicated.

P.S. I'm talking about the 2001 remake

They got the acrobat into the vault, who packed up the money, fed a false camera feed into the security systems which made it look like they were in there but they weren't then they dressed as a SWAT team, took over the vault (but of course no-one else was there, bar the acrobat) and left with the money in what was apparently their SWAT bags.

The big flaw in the film, acknowledged in the DVD commentary, is that the very large amount of false money found at the end was never seen to be brought into the vault. It's a "how did that get there" hole in the plot.

Schooly

Yeah, the deal with that was that the false feed into the security systems was filmed in a model reconstruction of the room that the robbers made. Andy Garcia's character worked that out because he realised the logo thing he had had installed very recently was missing on the camera feed. Or something like that..

It's really not that complicated: Danny and Linus winch down into the vault during the powercut and rendez-vous with the Chinese acrobat, who's been put there in the money cart.. The rest of the gang are then standing by dressed as a SWAT team, who intercept Terry Benedict's call for help and then swoop in and take the money away.

All of this is camouflaged witha few tricks such as the feeding of the 'fake' robbery onto the security screens, the remote controlled van, and the fake fight with the big bodyguard. It's right though that theres a few holes in the ending.
