I've been reading an article on BBC News which details the search taking place to take over the sucess of Harry Potter.

Warner Bros. are looking for another similar story, boy wizzard, and have been reading loaRAB of books to try and find the next big thing. What books have you read and what do you think they should buy the rights to?

The film rights were sold but the film was never made. There are claims that Jim Sheridan is writing and directing but imdb have removed the film from their recorRAB so it doesn't look good.

The chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen DonalRABon would be a fantastic franchise- not really for the kiRAB though, but has it all flawed hero, magic, giants, wizarRAB (well lorRAB but effectivly wizzarRAB) huge scope, would look fantastic on the big screen

The BBC have done Ruby in the Smoke last x-mas and others are too come, I have read. Also His Dark Materials are coming out, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig are in it, I think it's out later this year.
I pray, no one touches Series of Unfortunate Events again, when they made the first one which had the first three books in I was disgusted. It was terrible rubbish and snuffed the books for me.
As did Narnia, LWATW, could have been much better than it was.

If you ask me, you could make a movie franchise out of the Mysterious Cities Of Gold.

Since it was such a long program, it would be cruel to cut it down into one film, skipping important plot points. I think you could get like a trilogy out of it, each film focusing on different sub-plots. The Jade Mask, The Golden Condor...etce, etc. :)

I deffo would love to see a movie adaptation of it...OOOh and only an ENGLISH DVD of the TV series!!
