The new health care reform bill that Obama is pushing?

The new health care reform bill that Obama is pushing seems to be a huge waste. Costing over 2 trillion dollars and not even half of the uninsured Americans would be covered. Not to mention all of the illegal immigrants that we will be footing their health care bills...most of which do not pay taxes to help support the system to begin with.

Why would ANYONE support this? Am I missing something here?

Yes. You are. Your facts are in error, and your characterization of the plan is inaccurate. You need to do a little more independent research.
 
From today's WSJ; it sums it up as a disaster: "Mr. Obama and Democrats claim they can expand subsidies for tens of millions of Americans, while saving money and improving the quality of care. It can't possibly be done. The inevitable result of their plan will be some version of a NICE board that will tell millions of Americans that they are too young, or too old, or too sick to be worth paying to care for."
