The Never Ending Story blu ray

First time blu ray release for this title.

One of the more unusual childrens movies from the 80's, and maybe not remembered with as much fondness as others because it deals with sadness and loss in a way that movies of that era rarely did.

It had some incredible creature design and huge sets, and they still hold up very well today...especially the Luck Dragon and the Rock Biter.

And it's a very good transfer, good pic, and because there are few optical effects there is not so much grain. Plus a DTS track as well.

Recommended.
 
Is this the only movie where you, the viewer, is mentioned without the character actually addressing the fourth wall? I just love that moment where the Empress talks about us lot watching Bastian.

It's such a deep movie and anybody who fails to get moved by the 'big, strong hanRAB...' lament must have a heart of stone.

Wonder what the remake will be like?
 
I think The Never Ending Story is a great film. It's brilliant for nostalgia purposes. It's got such a catchy, innocent theme tune at the start. A great 80's classic.
 
i'm glad there's people out there who remeber The Never-ending story!! I got it on dvd two years ago for christmas.

Is my one of my fave films from my childhood. I love the music throughout. A forgotten classic
