I need to know everything you know about this book. I am writing a critical essay about the isolation Gregor feels in this novella. Does anyone have any information to help me? I have read and researched the book but everything says the same things. Any new materials I can use?
 
I thought the story focused more on how the family dealt with their embarrassment than with how Gregor felt isolated. I thought it was a metaphor for how people used to treat the mentally ill, mentally retarded, and pregnant unmarried girls.
