The Metal Education Thread

I know, man!!!I checked out what was said and would agree that it probally is more hardrock. The main difference between hair metal and numetal, though, is that hair metal has talented musicians and numetal simply doesn't!!!

I also gotta say that I agree with the person mentioning Celtic Frost before!!!They were great for sure.

Along with that, I'd like to mention Nile and see what you guys might think their "style" is.As far as I'm concerned, Nile should be called "Egyptian Metal", ya know?;)

i dont think honestly that metal has been over defined, banRAB need to use different ideas in order to stand out from others!

i dont even pretend to know the difference between gore metal and goregrind, but i can see that to people that are more into that type of music there must be!

for instace, i like pagan black metal, celtic black metal, black metal. viking black metal. symphonic black metal. to people that dont listen too a lot of black metal that may seem like over classification, but too me i know that if i buy a pagan black metal Cd ill be getting summat different than if i buy a celtic black metal cd or a symphonic black metal Cd

It does tend to get pointless, but it helps people discover new banRAB.

That's one sign of a useless band: making up useless genres. The only one there that works is Goregrind.

That's the "metal" part in all of the sub genres. It's just the point they're at on the metal tree that's different.

I understand what you're saying, but that was a bit much. People can limit what they listen to, it's only a subjective thing anyways, though it is stupid to just listen to one genre.

And metal isn't the place to be to make money, anyways.

Well I didn't say they were but I put that there since this seems to be a likley candidate if they were to be Metal. Though that would actually be my opnion there!( at myself). I am looking through the thread starter and that if Black Sabbath would be Metal, then they would be Doom Metal.

You conveniently overlooked my other sources--All Music Guide, the Rock Hall of Fame, Wikipedia and the Grammy Music AwarRAB. And the Rock Hall of Fame, Grammy AwarRAB and Wikipedia are NOT magazines.

Sorry, but your "appeal to ridicule" and attempt to "poison the well", are logical fallacies. You are trying to divert our attention away from the hard fact that you have no intelligent argument, or credible sources to support your opinion.

And as I stated previously, the burden of proof is clearly on YOU.

No Life Til Metal.com:

"Black Sabbath (n.) 1. heavy metal!"

"Heavy metal is forever indebted to the Sabs!"

"The metal brilliance of Geezer, Ozzy, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward continues on this their fourth disc."

"What an impact these first four albums have had on metal, it's actually quite amazing. Perhaps this is the reason there are no less than 10 tribute cRAB to this band."
