I've just been looking over a few questions (I am new to answers) and I was shocked to see people making ridiculous comments completely out of place. One question was "Why do we have a seven day week?", the questioner explained she had read genesis and wanted a different answer so why start saying stupid things like "well you've read genesis so you know don't you".

I don't believe in a conventional Christian god. I have been to church and I find the message unhelpful. I've read the Bible, the Qur'an, the Book of Mormon and even the dead sea scrolls and nothing has given me an answer I believe quite as much as the big band theory. Science has answered more questions about our world than any book written over a millennium ago in my eyes but I don't force that down peoples throats. I went into town this morning and heard a group of carol singers from the local church (a bit early I thought!) but I didn't laugh and tell them "when you die you're just going to rot in the ground and there is no heaven". I accept that these are good people and I treat them as such without hurting their feelings.

So argue amongst yourselves. Is there a God? Is there no God? Do you have to force your idea onto someone? Can you just carry on your life having your own personal beliefs without telling others? Is it right to tell others there is one true God when you believe it is not theirs? (if there was a God I can't see why it would matter what book you followed because they all believe in the same good honest values)

Oh and If I get any Muslim bashing by uneducated losers I will report your answer.

There is only the Force...
May the wisdom of Master Yoda
Guide you fair & true...

May the force be with you...

Yes, it is right for a christian to tell others the truth of God's word, even if they are of a different persuasion. If you saw someone walking along reading a book intently and there was a hole in the ground directly in front of them which they could not see, would you call out to them, even though it disturbed and initially irritated them because of your interrupting their leisure time? If there is such a thing as absolute truth, then all are not right. This may disturb many, but it will not change because they are disturbed. The truth is like that, unchanging.

Hey, welcome to R&S. Surrender your sanity.

Really, you can't take people seriously here. That's just how R&S is.

Is there no God? Yep
Do you have to force your idea onto someone? No
Can you just carry on your life having your own personal beliefs without telling others? Yes unless others beliefs affect me and my family and friends
Is it right to tell others there is one true God when you believe it is not theirs? No
(if there was a God I can't see why it would matter what book you followed because they all believe in the same good honest values) Good point although the good honest values are not really represented in the abrahamic religions Im afraid

S&R: Uppity Atheists Welcome

((They think they know everything, but they are the stupid ones))

((Actually, I bet you about half of them are 12 years old))

Technically, I don't think this is a question. :) But I have to agree with you. When people come on here to get an answer to something that they have on their mind that is bothering them, I don't know why 9 out of 10 people will respond just to bash them instead of offering some useful information. I think those folks need a hobby.

Exactly. Everyone has the right to their opinion and they shouldn't force it upon others. People can believe what they want
