the MAC brush dilemma?

so...I want to buy a MAC brush...for now, and maybe ever, only one

I was all out for the 219, because it seems to be the hardest to duplicate, unless you go for Sigma, which I can't do but now I'm also...briefly considering the 217..

so...I have some questions about the 2 brushes

I DON'T WANT YOU TO TELL ME WHAT TO BUY...just answer the questions

about the 217:
is there any good dupe besides Sigma or Coastal Scents, or any other website?
does it do a fine but smoked out crease effect?
is it good to use for the outer corners of the lid? (cause I usually go for the 2 lid colors and nothing else look)

about the 219:
how is it in crease work?
can you use it to line the upper lid with eyeshadow?
I heard it can be used for brow bone highlight...is it too small for that or does it do the job?
does it do outer corner work?
what else exactly is it actually good for?

217:
I haven't seen any good dupes for the 217 besides the Sigma which I personally don't own so I don't know the quality
It is decent for crease work when used at a 90 degree angle, but I find the 222 or 224 do a better job
You can use this to apply lid colors as well, but it can get a little big for precision work. This brush is really too big for true outer corner/ outer V work.

219:
It is good for precise crease work. This brush is small and pointed, too small for blending.
Yes, you can use it for a thicker or smoky line on the top and bottom lash line, but if you want a true thin line this brush is too big
It is too small for brow bones
It is great for outer corner work.
It works best for outer corner and lining purposes


People rave about the 217, but I hardly ever use it. Of the two it is definitely the more versatile. I have used it for applying lid colors, brow bone highlights, crease color, paint pots, and blending. It is rather fluffy, and a brush like the 239 is better IMO for applying lid colors.

The 219 is a great brush, but has less uses. It is the best MAC brush for outer corner work and other precision jobs like lining the lower lash line and smoking things out. It can be used to apply crease color but the brush is so small that serious blending with another brush will have to happen. It is a good size to highlight your tear ducts.

does it do a fine but smoked out crease effect? it's nice but if by fine you mean defined, I don't think it's very good, its a little too big and much better for blending two colours and ridding it of harsh lines.

is it good to use for the outer corners of the lid? (cause I usually go for the 2 lid colors and nothing else look) I don't find it to be good for defining, but you can apply colour to the outer 1/3 nicely and evenly it's much more of a blending brush, not the BEST blending brush MAC make but it is good.

I heard it can be used for brow bone highlight...is it too small for that or does it do the job? it's far too small, a brush like the 227 or 222 is much better, However you can use a stain like eyeshadow on it to make the colour in your crease fade before your highlight.

what else exactly is it actually good for? smudging, applying crease colour and definition, its also great for highlighting your tear duct, I actually bought a second so I could use it with light colours and dark in one look
