The King Is Dead - BBC3

Erm, I'm somewhat speechless at this one.

So the Beeb have produced some shite on BBC3 in the history but this has to be one of the most bizarrely unfunny skits ever

Simon Bird spent the time looking incredibly smug at his fairly crap jokes and the Vegas/Orlando joke was barely funny the first time nevermind the 50th time

I tried watching this, I think I lasted 5 minutes and had to turn over, it has to be one of the worst shows BBC Three have ever commissioned and that is saying something.

I actually quite liked it.:o

I thought it was completely random and weird and very insane, but I got swept up by it and by the end I actually quite enjoyed it.

I watched the whole show. I had nothing better to do. :(

I thought it was watchable, but not something I could see myself going out of my way to watch again. I don't like James Corden, so that ruined the show for me. Peaches Geldof was a terrible guest, so wooden and had no idea how to improvise or be funny. Sarah Beeny was no better.

The presenters, two of whom I have never heard of, were awful. I like Simon Bird in The Inbetweeners, but as a host he is not my cup of tea. The other two appeared to be a little lost and confused themselves, probably nerves.

I had high expectations of this show when I first read about the idea, but sadly the reality didn't live up to the dream.

BBC 3 gave up on quality control when it comes to Commissioning new programmes a long time ago.
In terms of the main UK broadcasters it is probably the worst channel in the history of British broadcasting.

I kept trying to watch it but had to keep switching over, all the guests seemed uncomfortable about the whole thing. I can't understand why for their introduction they were just insulted, it wasn't funny.

I like the inbetweeners but didn't like Simon on this. The other two I recognise from other comedy programmes but I can't understand why they keep getting comedy roles when this show showed how unfunny they are.

Most things on BBC3 get a pilot first but I haven't seen one for this, I am very surprised someone has bought 7 episodes of it.

I enjoyed bits of it, but it was just too smug for words. Simon Bird is just a continuation of his Inbetweeners character. Crap guests & who the hell were the other 2 nobodies who assisted BIrd?!

And the tournament to produce the biggest pile of crap continues apace.

It's still the only explanation I can think of for the god-awful rubbish that appears on BBC 3.

I actually feel physically sick. But you know that is largely due to the rank curry I ate earlier.

I have not been able to watch the entire show because I feel like I want to pull my brain out, put it in a liquidiser and then eat it. I was very happy to see Yesterday was repeating yet another episode of the Antiques Roadshow. I may have seen it a million times before but anything is better than punishing myself with this.

I am never usually this harsh about anything, but I respect Simon Bird. He's bloody good. He really is. And I am disappointed.

And new Inbetweeners tomorrow. I'm worried that I'll hate that too now, and that would be bad.

I really liked Meebox by Adam Buxton and I have no idea why garbage like this gets commissioned and his didn't.
The show was a bit school play for me, but I guess if I was 14 and a bit of a dim kid I might like it.

My life sunk low enough tonight to watch The King Is Dead. Rubbish and pointless. The female 'police officer' however had much more comedic skill than Simon.

Indeed. Hidden among the rubbish is the odd quality program, such as How Not To Live Your Life.

I saw the trailer for this and was sceptical. Seems that was the right reaction.
