I don't believe that any bail out scheme by the US Government will work unless they massively increase taxes or milk Iraq dry of oil to fund the economic repairs.
That in itself will create a greater anti American feeling in the world and increase the likelihood of changing oil sales to Euros and causing the destruction of the US economy.
The only way to deal with this situation is to go through the recession until market confidence finds it's own equilibrium.
I think the suggestions of Government bailout are just propaganda to try to play the stock markets. As a result people are becoming suspicious and things are starting to spiral out of control.
Over the next week we can expect bigger rises in oil prices and more businesses going under.
