The Imaginiarium of doctor Parnassus..*

Really wanted to see this Friday, except my local cineworld aren't showing it! Probably because Up is on about 5 screens and Cloudy meatballs or whatever on a few then the rest are Bollywood films.

Would have thought they would have thought this film worthy of showing on release day. If they do get it I can guarantee it won't be fora few weeks if not a month. Not the first time they have done this, guess it's my fault that I live close to probably the largest Asian community in the West of London. Cineworld can't cater for everyone and it's half term next week so I guess they think they will be full of kiRAB wanting to see Up!

Rant over :(

Going by a lot of reviews, most people (who see it with an open mind) love it.

But hell, if you've decided you're going to hate it then fair enough. Your loss.

I don't know what attracted some people to this movie because all I could hear were people talking about how they didn't know what the film was about, or weren't 100% what the title was. Not surprisingly, afterwarRAB the same people could be heard saying how they thought it was crap/boring or they'd fallen asleep. I also got annoyed by the person who said it would be crap because it was a 12a. Don't go and see it then, numbnuts.

But I thought it was a good film, not great but it was so very different from any of the films I've seen in recent years and it was quite fun to see. Also Tom Waitts is brilliant casting as the devil.

Also, no Depp doesn't have a huge role in the film, Farrell has the biggest role out of the 3 actors stepping in to cover Ledger's death. The other being Jude Law. The three of them actually do very well to follow closely to Ledger's portrayal of the character.

Saw it last night and really liked it, I'd give it a good 4/5. The way Gilliam adapted the story after Ledger's death was extraordinary and fits in brilliantly, and there's some great acting by the whole cast. The visuals are also very beautiful.

Eh? It's nothing like Sweeney Todd. The only things it has in common with that film is that it's set in London and stars Johnny Depp (albeit briefly).

I havn't seen Sweeney Todd so NP for me lol.

Looks great, seeing this at some point. Are there any Paloma Faith songs in the movie? She stars in it and weirdly her album shot to #1 in the iTunes chart..?

Thanks! :)

Got a reply from cineworld about my enquiry why my local cineworld isn't showing this film

Not sure how many cineworlRAB exist, but they have it showing at 50 of them if my counting is correct.

I wonder why it's limited? Seems quite a big movie as well what with the cast line-up and the heath ledger 'last movie' thing.

Hmm, anything to do with the credit crunch perhaps? Have no idea why that would cause this but a lot of movies have been limited this year at cineworld.

Still want to see it, does Paloma Faith have a big role in the movie?
