the htc hero from telus?

i know that telus doesn't allow you to make custom ringtones for free unless you have a phone that
uses windows which is a phone like the htc pro.
i also know that the htc hero doesn't run on windows.
does the htc run on another program that allows you to download or make free ringtones?
