The groom cannot see the bride...?

wearing her dress? or can he not see her actual dress on a hanger? What about a picture in a magazine or online?

I would like to know if it is bad luck to ask my fiance his opinion about a few dresses that I found online and am planning to try on. What is really the tradition?

The tradition is, that he cannot see you in the dress before the wedding day. He can however see it on a hanger, or in a magazine, or online, because you are technically not wearing it.

It's bad luck to see the BRIDE before the wedding, so I would say it's okay to show him a few dresses if you want to. I showed my fiance a couple dresses online just to get an idea of what he might like, but he's not going to have any idea what I actually get at all until he sees me at the wedding.

If I were you, ask his opinon about several, and do not tell him which you choose. do not let him see you in it or on the hanger. The look on his face when he sees you in the dress for the first time it will be a look the only happens once and is completely between you two. It is such an intimate moment between a couple.....there are no words to describe it. I wish you both every happiness, good luck. Have a great time!

He is not supposed to see it at all, it's bad luck!

It's all your choice though, he can see a bunch of pics, and ask his opinion, and not tell him which one you get! Then it will still be some sort of surprise.

i chose my dress by myself and my fiance isn't seeing it AT ALL before the ceremony when i walk down the aisle. not because of the tradition or superstition, but because i want it to be a surprise for him. he thinks i got a totally different silhouette than what i actually got, and i am super excited to see the look on his face when he finds out that i got one that is slightly sexier and more what he would want to see me in. for this reason, he is not seeing or knowing anything about what my dress looks like until that moment.
