What were the people who cleared the streets of rubbish called, during the Great Plague?
I don't mean just normal People, I mean people who had it as a job.
The people who would clear away the rubbish out of people's houses, after the people had cleaned it out.
And how often did they come to clear it away ?

Searchers of the Dead. They sought out plague victims. Once they were identified, the house would be boarded up and the rest of the family quarantined. Searchers of the dead were mostly older women with enough medical knowledge to spot plague victims. They were paid about four pence per body, but during the Great Plague the authorities couldn’t afford to pay for the hundreds of people dying everyday.
