K, so I know that some peole think fish are just something you buy in the store then the next few months or couple of years you just replace them. Then on the other hand good people actually CARE about their pets and realise overcrowding and bowls both mean death. If you have a bowl no matter what type or how many fish you put in it WILL be overcrowded. This has been talked about alot, but seriously, bettas are treated like dirt! I saw my local pet store opening a box full of bags of bettas, the bettas have maybe 100ml of water, that's one tenth of a liter and there is four liters per gallon! Then when they opened the bags they got tiny cups and without the water put the bettas in the empty cup, poured HOT water i nthe cup strait from the tap then only after did they dechlorinate it, but the dechlorinator was a bubbly type and the bettas were stuck at the top being carried to the surface by a cheap dechlorinator. It was brutal. And goldfish suffering in bowls while people think their goldfish is having fun while actauly it's upside down becuase of swim bladder disease. it's sad, put thouts ect. To all fish haters, why are you even on the fish section of yahoo answers.
2 years is nothing! id u would treat him like roality he would have lived longer, a long lived betta usualy live around 10 years.
Gordon you really suck, animals are certanly NOT hear for our enjoyment, animals were here before us so u suck ass' and YES fish can feel pain it has been proven.
