Hi,
Finally sat down and watched this as a whole Marathon on Sky Modern.
Damn Good.
Bought a DVD Directors Cut Box-Set about 10 years ago, and still never got round to watching it (might still be wrapped) - each movie about 3 hours long challenged my need to watch everything else, but today I happened to catch it at 10:50 in the morning and thought to hell with whatever else is on.
If they'd left it at just the one, it would of course have been considered a classic, but I watched them all almost as a single long movie which was helped by the intended flash-backs and cuts in the individual movies.
Everything I might want to say, I'm sure already has, inc. the series getting progressively weaker, and other movies/programmes that couldn't claim too much originality that might involve such story arcs or the mafia.
What would FM's be able to recommend in a similar vain. meaty trilogies or more (2+).
